Incident Report / Actions Taken by Team Members
A of the female employee of NCCBD told me that about strange man siting in his parked car in at the end of the parking lot and stated that she was very concerned about his appearance and demeanor.
I approached his vehicle, which was a white 4-door sedan license plate 7MLM519. All of his windows were rolled down and the interior of the vehicle was painted white. I tried to speak to him, but he would not acknowledge or respond to me. He only starred straight ahead and would not look at me. Due to his non-responsive to me I called the CPD non emergency number. An officer rolled up within about 10 minutes.
While the officer was speaking to him, Pastor Kip Strawbridge showed up at the campus and told me of an interaction that Ron Hardy had with this the same person last Sunday. Kip informed me that his name was David Slattery and his parents (he is an adopted child) are members at the Carlsbad Campus and volunteers. Kip stated the David had mental issues and was not considered a threat.
I informed the officer of the information that was given to me and that we would allow him to stay to attend service. The officer did agree that he did not appear to be a threat and clearly had some mental issues. David told the officer that the reason the interior of the car what all spray painted white was because that is the color the angels wear.
After the officer left, I asked David to move his vehicle as he was in a “No Church Parking” locations. After having to repeat myself and ask him a second time, he turned and looked at me responding with a verbal “yes”. He then left the campus and i did not see him again.
