Incident Report / Actions Taken by Team Members

On 05/26/2026, around 1830 hours, I was notified by Heather Smith that a 10 year old boy, named Isaac Arias was having what his parents believed to be a panic attack in parking lot C. I learned the family had attended a memorial service for Smith’s baby and after the service Isaac began having a panic attack which was coupled with severe chest pain. Smith told me they had already called an ambulance but she just wanted to let a member of the safety team know before the ambulance arrived. I walked with Smith towards the parking lot where the incident was occurring and noticed Oceanside Fire was pulling into the West Entrance. I guided Engine #216 to the incident. Ambulance #216 arrived a short time later as well.

I knew Pastor Brown was on campus and would be wondering what was happening, so I notified him and he responded to comfort those involved. I also notified Gordon Nixon and Cheyanne Adams so they could notify parents of those being dropped off for TNL that the incident had nothing to do with TNL. Ultimately Isaac was transported by ambulance to Tri_City Hospital.

I did not have any contact with the involved family besides providing my name and contact information to the father in case he wanted to notify us later about his son’s condition. We received information from Heather the following day that Isaac was still in the hospital and being monitored but would likely be released later in the day. No follow-up is needed by the safety team at this time.
