On 04/29/25 at about 2100 hours, I was notified of a potential fight that occurred between Ethan Aclan and Sean Cronin inside the of the Edge after dismissal from worship. Junior High Leader Matt Murphy observed the last part of the incident where Aclan threw a punch at Cronin but likely did not connect the punch.
I spoke to Cronin outside of the Edge and he told Aclan slapped him on the back of the head but did not give any detail about a punch. Cronin stated he did nothing to provoke the incident but believes it could have stemmed from Aclan not getting along with anyone in their small group and Aclan being made fun of at times. Cronin did not need medical attention.
I found Aclan up by the Junior High room talking with Junior High pastor Gordon Nixon, leader Matt Murphy and Aclan’s father, Dean. I did not interrupt the conversation but listened and stood by in case I was needed. Aclan was very apologetic and knew he made a mistake. He realized violence was not the answer but was upset the kids in his small group were making fun of him. Aclan was offered some alternate groups and everything was worked out between Aclan, leaders and parents.
Cronin was picked up prior to Nixon or myself making contact with his parents. Nixon advised me he would reach out to the Cronin parents and let me know if anything else was needed from me.
