On Sunday, 9/5/21 at approx. 11 am, Valerie Smith parked her Honda CRV CA#6UWH274 in Lot B at the Vista Campus. At 12:15 pm, she returned to the vehicle and found the right front passenger window had been smashed and two purses had been removed from the front passenger seat. The purses were empty and valued at a total of $50.
I reviewed the video footage and observed a Dark Blue Kia CA6ZBR548 enter the main entrance at 11:34 am. This is the same vehicle that was associated with a theft in Parking Lot B on June 27th. The driver appeared to be a male wearing a white T-shirt. The vehicle turned west and then south down the first aisle. It continued around the south perimeter and drove west out of view. I checked several cameras and observed a male wearing a white T-shirt looking into vehicles in the immediate area where the vehicle had been broken into. At 11:49 am I saw the Dark Blue Kia drive east along the south perimeter and stop at the far east aisle of Lot B. My view was obstructed by a tree. However, for the next 10 minutes, the subject in the white T-shirt was seen sneaking and ducking around several cars. At 12:05 pm, the Kia had turned around and drove west along the south aisle and out of view. At 12:12 pm, the vehicle was observed driving east along the north aisle and turned south out the Main entrance. The vehicle left the campus turning west on North Santa Fe.
