Incident Report / Actions Taken by Team Members
Tom and Lucas approached the female who had a very active dog with a pink chest harness on. They asked the questions and was told that the service dog was in training. Clearly not a service dog, jumping on any one who got close. Was allowed to enter the plaza due to a misunderstanding on the approved K-9 companion organization allowed. Once cleared up the female had already taken a seat with family in the plaza. I decided to address after service. Greg and I approached the female. Her dog immediately jumped on me. As I was telling her that she was no longer allowed to bring her dog onto campus due to it jumping on people and creating a disturbance while sitting under the tent. I also explained that under ADA unless the service animal is for a disability and has been trained for a task it does not qualify. I got the stink eye but no more argument and the left the campus.
