Judy Prior notified the Live Venue staff that her mother, Barbara Klar, was feeling faint and weak. The venue staff recruited me for assistance. After an initial assessment I determined that Barbara could walk so we assisted her outside for fresh air and a seat in the shade. As we arrived to the outside chair, Barbara grew weak and lost strength in her legs. Judy and I caught her and placed her in the chair. After a quick SAMPLE history (Signs and Symptoms, Allergies, Medications, Past Medical History, Last Oral Intake and Events leading up to incident), I called Erin (Medic) from the Edge for assistance. Collectively we gathered vitals (BP, Pulse, Skins). During the assessment Barbara presented with signs of Stroke (later to be determined as Heat Exhaustion). At this point we communicated to Brad that 911 should be called. During the wait time for BLS we kept taking vitals and reassuring Barbara as she went in and out of consciousness. When the Fire Medics arrived they took vitals including a 12 lead and glucose. All of Barbara’s “stats” were good and allowed her the opportunity to sign an AMA. Erin, Theresa and I transported both Judy and Barbara to Judy’s vehicle where Judy drove Barbara home and said she’d be watching over her for the evening.
